Peach.

It's definitely past my bedtime, and I am extremely tired tonight. So, needless to say this will be a short post. I wanted to give a quick update before we leave for Orlando tomorrow. I ended up having an ultrasound done about a week ago and they checked my liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and pancreas. I had to wait a few days for the results, but I finally found out on Tuesday that everything looks NORMAL! I was so grateful for those results. Although I don't know what caused me to be so sick a couple of weeks ago, I am just thanking God for healing me and for giving me good results. I will be 12 weeks tomorrow! Woo Hoo! Our little one will be the size of a peach. I'm looking forward to being in my second trimester. However, I must say that my first has really not been all that bad. Justin and I are leaving tomorrow for Orlando, FL and will not be back until next Saturday! I am so grateful to be taking this trip and am very excited about all of the things God will be teaching us. So, if you're reading this, you can lift up a prayer for us for safe travels and that everyone will stay healthy while we are there. We are leaving Minnie with Justin's mom for the week and I know that they will both enjoy each other's company very much. I do miss my little sweet pea tonight as I'm sitting on the couch and she is not here to cuddle with me. Well, this post is turning out to be much longer than I thought. I hope everyone has a very blessed Easter! He is RISEN!

Lime.

Good morning to anyone that reads my blog. I must say that I have been wanting to post for a few days now, but I have been a bit under the weather. I've actually been dealing with some kind of sickness since late Thursday night. I will spare you all of the details, but let me just say...YUCK! I finally went to urgent care yesterday and after 2 long hours we were finally leaving with no definite diagnosis. Ugh. In a nut shell, I could have a gallstone, a kidney stone, or neither. Awesome. Today I am waiting to hear back from my primary Dr. to find out whether or not they think I need to have any further testing. I am so thankful to be feeling better this morning. I have actually successfully eaten breakfast and am currently sipping slowly on a delicious, decaf frappuccino. My husband definitely deserves some kind of award for how loving and patient he has been over the past few days. Well, really over the past 5 years! But really, he has taken such good care of me and I just can't thank God enough for him. And Minnie, too. She has laid (literally laid) by my side since Thursday night. I just love her. As for baby...he/she is the size of a lime this week! Justin and I both felt like that was quite a jump from prune last week. But what do we know. Obviously I have been feeling nauseous over the past few days, but I'm not sure that its related to pregnancy or whatever else might be going on inside of me. That's about all for the updates for now. Except that spring break is next week!!! I'm praying that I will be as good as new by then! :)

Gummy Bear.

Friday was the day! We got to see our baby for the very first time!! It was a very cool experience and I am so glad that Justin was able to be there to share it with me. Baby Evans looks great and is measuring right on time. I am 9 weeks today. His/Her heart rate was 179 bpm, which we were told is good. He/She has two little arm buds and two little leg buds. The ultrasound tech called him/her our little gummy bear. I thought that was cute. We got to see the heart beating on the screen which was really neat. I am still feeling good, and still praising Jesus that I am feeling good! We go back to the Dr. at the beginning of May for a family history workup... woo hoo! I cannot believe it's already April! 10 more (school) days until SPRING BREAK and 21 more days until we go to ORLANDO for a WEEK! Oh my goodness, I cannot contain my excitement!! Well, I will leave you with a picture of our little gummy bear. Note: The circle at the top of his/her head is not a part of baby.

Clothes.

Ugh. I went shopping tonight for a few maternity items for myself. I am not quite needing them just yet, but my pants are super tight these days and I know things will continue to get tighter. Let me just say that I am ready to look pregnant, and not just bloated! I know the time will come. Needless to say, shopping was not the most enjoyable experience tonight. However, I did walk away with two new pairs of pants and two new shirts. I'm hoping to be able to borrow some clothes from friends who have had kids and saved their maternity clothes. My wallet is not going to be able to afford new clothes every time my belly gets bigger.

I am so excited that tomorrow is my FRIDAY! We have a teacher workday on Friday and it is a "work from home" day. That will be lovely! We also have our first ultrasound on Friday afternoon!!! I cannot wait!! Baby is a green olive this week. So cute. :) I'm still feeling pretty good, just extremely tired. I'm so grateful to have felt this good during these first 8 weeks. I pray that this continues.

Beach.

One of my absolute favorite things in the entire world is waking up at the beach. Justin and I have been so blessed to be able to pack up and head to the beach whenever we so desire. Justin's grandparents have lived at Topsail Island, NC for several years. Sadly, they are in the process of trying to sell their home. The great thing about this is that they will be much closer to us! This is something I am very excited about! We are here at the beach this weekend for what will likely be our last stay at the "Fun Bunch" beach house. I am looking forward to a beautiful weekend of relaxing with family.

I don't really have any baby updates today. Nothing has really changed since my first post. We do have our first ultrasound this coming Friday! I am extremely excited about this!! Until next time. :)

Baby.

March 3, 2011. A day that changed our lives forever. Justin and I found out that we are expecting our first child! WOW! I cannot believe that this day has finally come. I have wanted to be a mom for as long as I remember. And now, my dream is finally coming true. Well, it will come true sometime around November 6th! As of today, I am 7 weeks, 2 days along. Our baby is supposedly the size of a raspberry. Cute. I have been feeling pretty good for the most part since finding out I am pregnant. I have had occasional nausea, especially when I'm getting really hungry, but nothing too terrible. For that, I am thankful. I feel so blessed to be a part of a family that will be growing by 3 this year! My sister and my cousin are both expecting babies within this year. Oh how different Christmas presents will be this year! Anyway, I am going to TRY to be more diligent about updating my blog. I decided to start fresh with a brand new blog, with a brand new name, in hopes of keeping up with this next chapter in our lives. Justin and I both are so excited to set out on this journey and we know that God is in complete control of it all! Thanks for reading!!
